2021 Annual Directors’ Meeting Held

February 4, 2021

On the evening of February 2, 2021, the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba held its annual Directors’ Meeting and election to follow up to the previous week’s Shareholders’ AGM. After nominations and online voting, the Executive Board welcomed Mitchell Eastley and Clint Swain, Directors since 2015 and 2019, respectively, to hold 2-year terms. The 10-member Executive Board meets monthly in addition to the Board of Directors meeting and is charged with the authority to direct the affairs and operations of the Provincial Exhibition—appointed members make decisions and adopt policies and procedures, amongst other directives to staff. Newly appointed Eastley and Swain join reelected Board President, Greg Crisanti and Vice President Kathy Cleaver, who will continue in their roles for an additional year. Attached to this press release is a full list of all current Directors.

A hot topic on the agenda was the newly launched “Love A Fair” campaign that kicked off on January 18th at a City Council Meeting. Directors and staff have been working hard to create a lineup of fundraisers to meet the $100,000 matching pledge made by the Kinsmen Club of Winnipeg. Currently running is a Valentine’s wine fundraiser (sponsored by De Nardi; orders end February 8), “Your Name in Stone” brick engraving/legacy project, a “meat cute” meat sale, and the ongoing Go Fund Me page. Future fundraisers include a large online auction featuring a variety of community donated items, as well as a follow-up sale of the popular #savethefairs Apparel Line. Stay tuned to the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba’s social media and website for all the ways to #loveafair and stay connected.
