March 20, 2025

Brandon, MB – Beneath our feet, a league of superheroes is hard at work, making life on Earth possible. The Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba is excited to announce the launch of Soil Superheroes, an interactive, educational exhibit coming to the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair, on loan from the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum. This hands-on experience, sponsored by TD Agriculture will be open daily in the MNP Hall during the fair from March 31 – April 5, 2025.

Through a vibrant storyline and engaging activities, Soil Superheroes introduces visitors to the unseen world of soil science and conservation. Guests will meet Captain Clay, The Mole, Wonder Worm, and other tiny but mighty champions working underground to protect our climate, clean our water, and support the food we eat.

“Soil health is a critical issue affecting food security, climate change, and sustainability, and this exhibit brings that message to life in an exciting, interactive way,” said Kristen Laing Breemersch, Manager of Operations at the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba. “We are excited to host Soil Superheroes at this year’s Royal Manitoba Winter Fair, giving families and students an opportunity to explore the hidden world beneath their feet and understand its impact on our daily lives.”

Kerry-Leigh Burchill, Director General at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum, also shared her enthusiasm for the exhibit:

“The Canada Agriculture and Food Museum could not have developed this amazing exhibition without the help of so many amazing partners. We can’t wait for Canadians across the country to meet the Soil Superheroes. This fun exhibition will contribute to a greater understanding and appreciation for the vital role that soil health plays in our environment and to our overall quality of life. We hope our newly assembled band of superheroes will spark curiosity about the importance of soil stewardship and sustainability.”
