Some great news for western Manitoba fiddlers of all ages.
The Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba, in association with FYI Doctors and the Manitoba Métis Federation, are pleased to announce plans for the 47th Annual Royal Fiddlers’ Contest at the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair.
This year’s event, which will feature over $2,000 in prize money, will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, on the Shur Gro Entertainment Stage, located in the Manitoba Hydro Amphitheatre.
Fans of all ages are encouraged to join us for a chance to experience the Old-Time and Métis Fiddling traditions and culture.
The Old-Time Fiddle Class will include novice, youth, adult, senior and open classes while the Métis-style will feature novice, youth and adult.
To further encourage the participation of our young fiddlers, this year’s event will feature cash prizes to all competitors in the novice and youth classes.

This year’s Royal Manitoba Winter Fair will be held from March 28 to April 2 in the Keystone Centre.
