To help mark the amazing work of healthcare professionals throughout the Prairie Mountain Health region, the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba and Your Prairie Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram Retailers across the province plan to honour them during the 2022 Royal Manitoba Winter Fair, as a thank you for their commitment to our community.
For two years, healthcare workers throughout the region, the province, the country and the world have continued to deliver health services in the most difficult of circumstances. They managed to set aside their own fears and fatigue, working long and challenging hours in hospitals, personal care homes, vaccine clinics and more.
Thanks to the generous support of Your Prairie Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram Retailers, five hundred healthcare workers from across Prairie Mountain Health will receive complimentary tickets to the annual Fair, which will be held from March 28 to April 2, 2022, in Brandon’s Keystone Centre. As well, the Provincial Exhibition has dubbed Friday, April 1st as “Health Care Workers Day” at the Fair, which returns this year after having been cancelled in both 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19.
“Over the past two years, we have all experienced and faced overwhelming challenges,” says Kevin Schumacher, PRDAA President. “This ongoing crisis has shown us who the true superheroes are. It’s not Superman, Spiderman or Batwoman. It is the individual like you and your colleagues who are working so hard to keep us all safe. You’re the true superheroes.”
“Your Prairie Ram Retailers would like to thank all these working around the clock on the front lines, putting yourselves at risk for the greater good of everybody else,” he went on to say.
Prairie Mountain Health Chief Executive Officer Brian Schoonbaert could not be more impressed by his staff.
“I am extremely proud and grateful to our Prairie Mountain Health employees, who have remained committed and compassionate the past two years. I am thrilled that Prairie Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep Retailers and the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba are celebrating our workers with this initiative.”
“To say that this has been an especially tough couple of years for those western Manitobans on the frontlines of this pandemic would be an understatement,” says Kathy Cleaver, President of the Provincial Exhibition. “Thanks to one of our many valuable sponsors, hundreds of healthcare workers and their families will not only have the opportunity to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair, but be recognized for their commitment and hard work.”
In addition to saluting western Manitoba’s healthcare workers, Your Prairie Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep Ram Retailers will again serve as the presenting sponsor of the annual Horse Dog Relay, scheduled for Wednesday night in Westoba Place.
Tickets to this year’s Fair are on sale now. As well, children (12 and under) will have until Sunday, March 27, 2022, to go online and order “free” tickets, courtesy of J&G Homes.
