Brandon, MB. – The Co-ops of Westman, in association with the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba are pleased to announce plans to help recognize Manitoba 4-H groups at this year’s Royal Manitoba Winter Fair at the Keystone Centre. The Co-ops of Westman Group include Heritage, Boundary, Pembina, Twin Valley, Valleyview and Neepawa-Gladstone Co-op.
In addition to being “Salute to 4-H Day” on Tuesday, March 28th, the Co-ops of Westman are encouraging 4-H clubs from across the region to develop an original video that illustrates the importance of 4-H in their community.
Beginning Wednesday, February 1st, Manitoba’s 4-H clubs will have the opportunity to submit a short 30-60 second video that answers the 4 W’s of 4-H. For instance: Where is your community? Who is your local Co-op? What does 4-H teach you? Why is 4-H Important to you and your club?
Once produced, 4-H clubs are asked to visit coopsofwestman.ca/4h-contest for more information on how to submit their videos. Complete rules and additional contest information on what format the videos should be sent in can be found there.
While all submissions will be shown during a special 4-H luncheon at the Dome Building during the winter Fair, the winning entry will not only receive a grand prize of a $500 Co-op gift card, the video will be shown “live” during the Tuesday night evening performance at Westoba Place.
The Provincial Exhibition and Co-ops of Westman have launched several initiatives in recent months aimed at younger groups, most notably western Manitoba’s 4-H clubs.
