Agriculture Education Still a Highlight of the Fair

March 23, 2022

The Royal Manitoba Winter Fair is less than a week away and again Agriculture Education will be front and center.

Visitors to the fair will have a chance to check out the Royal Experiences in Westoba Place for all six days of the Fair, which begins Monday, March 28 and runs through Saturday, April 2.

This year’s Royal Experiences, presented by Enbridge Pipelines, Manitoba Blue Cross and Bounce FM, will feature several key attractions during the week, including Wagon Ho on both opening and closing nights. Wagon Ho will give western Manitobans an opportunity to not only experience farm animals virtually but can also experience their strength by riding in a horse drawn wagon.

Other Royal Experience events include Saddle Up and Rodeo demonstrations, mini horses and Feed the Farm.

While there will be lots to see and do in the main arena, the north end of the Keystone Centre will feature Cattle Country as well as the Royal Farmyard, presented by Maple Leaf, Peavey Mart and will feature the Westoba Credit Union Farmyard Friends exhibit.

Farmyard Friends is one of the most popular destinations at the Fair, with goats, rabbits, chickens and many more live animals every day.

The TD Action Stage will be hosting a selection of educational demonstrations and presentations in the Ag-Tivity area throughout the week. Be sure to view our daily schedules online for times and attractions.

Cattle Country, which is home to the Royal Cattle Show, will again be focused on youth and the future of our cattle industry. Young beef producers will share and learn what it takes to market their product and succeed in the food production industry.

The Royal Manitoba Winter Fair will officially kick off on Monday, March 28 from 7:00 – 10:00 a.m. in the historic Dome Building, with the annual Sunrise Credit Union Western Breakfast, presented by 94.7 Star FM and 91.5 Q Country FM. The cost of the breakfast is $5 and those attending are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for Samaritan House Ministries.

Tickets to the Fair are on sale now. Children (12 and under) are eligible for “free” tickets, courtesy of J&G Homes.
