Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba Shareholders AGM
Brandon, MB. – For the first time in three years, the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba’s Annual General Meeting was
held in person at the Dome Building and after a return of its signature events last year, the non profit organization has
announced a $41,892 surplus in 2022.
Considering that 2022 was the first year of all three major events taking place since 2019, with many unknowns, the
surplus is encouraging that operations are in a good position going forward says Trista White, Senior Manager of BDO,
who congratulated the Provincial Exhibition for a successful year.
“Thanks to a lot of hard work this past year, the Provincial Exhibition seems well positioned going into 2023,” she told
the audience Tuesday night.
Provincial Exhibition President, Kathy Cleaver, says this year’s numbers reflect a year of hard work by the management,
staff, executive and board.
“This past year was certainly a challenge,” says Cleaver, who went on to say “but overall, we worked extremely hard in
order to have a successful year and get the Exhibition back on track.”
In addition to announcing its 2022 financials, the Provincial Exhibition named its annual winner of the Jim Figol
Memorial Award and saw sixteen members elected to the Board, including seven new ones.
New members include Simon Atkinson, Calvin Jacobson, Jane Haglund – Scott, Ryan Holden, Tracey Wilcox, Gladden
Smith, and Ron Kristjansson while several others were re-elected including Wayne Buhr, Dallas Johnston, Mitch
Kaminsky, David Leech, Vern Nystedt, Gary Schott, Chad Stiles, Shirley Neudorf, and Dayle Hughson.
In addition to her successful re-election, Hughson was named recipient of last year’s Figol Volunteer award, which is
presented annually to a volunteer that embodies the same commitment, spirit and dedication to all of the fairs and
community as the Past Director and President. This past year, Dayle served as Co-Chair of the Manitoba Summer Fair
with Tim Rowan and Connie Bok.
Now that the Shareholders AGM and election of Directors has come and gone, next up will be the Director’s AGM to
elect the next President, Vice President, and Executive Directors Board on Tuesday, February 7th, 2023.
As well, preparations continue on both next month’s President’s Dinner, to be held on February 16th at the Victoria Inn
and the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair in March. For more information on both events or to purchase tickets be sure to visit: www.provincialexhibition.com
