Maintain the Glory

Display Building No. II / The Dome Building, Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba

Working Together to Maintain the Glory

As the only known surviving building built for the Dominion Exhibition (1879-1914), The Dome Building (Display Building No. II) was designated a Canadian national historic site in 1999. Not long after being listed as one of Canada’s most endangered structures by the Heritage Canada Foundation, a massive restoration and redevelopment effort was initiated that, over the proceeding decade, would see the building restored to a 21st century version of its former glory.

With the support of the Provincial Government, Maintain the Glory will continue by the way of providing funds to establish an endowment fund. For every $2 of capital contributions donated to the fund, the Province of Manitoba will contribute an additional $1. The Dome Sustainability Fund will be managed in collaboration with the Brandon Area Community Foundation (BACF), with contributions from the provincial government to a maximum of $100,000.

This initiative will remain in effect until March 30, 2026, or until the full $500,000 has been paid out to The Dome Building Sustainability Fund, whichever is shorter.
