Royal Manitoba Winter Fair 2026
Pork Quality Competition
Entry into the Pork Quality Competition is open!
Join us Wednesday, April 1 at the Dome Building during the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair for the Pork Quality Luncheon, a celebration of Manitoba’s top pork producers, the quality pork they raise, and the communities they support.
At the heart of the event is the Pork Quality Competition, where hog producers from across the province submit entries judged on traits such as weight, fat depth, loin yield, marbling, and overall market readiness. The Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion entries support Assiniboine College’s Culinary Arts program, while all other entries are donated through East 40 Packers to food banks and community charities.
Sponsorship funds contribute to a prize pool, and entrants select a charity to support at the time of entry. Any entrant placing 5th or higher ensures their chosen charity receives a minimum of 50% of their prize money, and many choose to donate their full winnings.
Past charity beneficiaries include Christian Aid Ministries, Heart Team, Neepawa Health Centre, Ronald McDonald House Manitoba, Mennonite Central Committee Manitoba, and more.
Thanks to our sponsors Manitoba Pork, Fortified Nutrition, Assiniboine College, East 40 Packers, and Blue Water Wash, this event continues to celebrate local agriculture while giving back to the Westman community.
Past beneficiaries include Christian Aid Ministries, Heart Team, Neepawa Health Centre, Ronald McDonald House Manitoba, and more.
Entries close March 27, 2026. Only two entries per farm. You must submit payment for all applicable fees with your entry.
