Provincial Exhibition Appoints McDougall for Marketing, Communications Role

April 14, 2022

The Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba is pleased to welcome a new Marketing and Communications Coordinator, who is returning to her roots.

Michele McDougall is a Brandonite, who is coming home after working several years in Alberta media, tourism and communications.

She started her media career at CKX Television and while in Alberta, reported news and weather in Lethbridge, Calgary and Edmonton. McDougall moved to a northern Alberta community as tourism coordinator and most recently worked for a college as marketing specialist.

“Brandon has never left my heart,” says McDougall. “I have always wanted to return to live, work and contribute to this beautiful and happening city. The Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba is a well-respected, forward thinking and successful organization that I have always admired. The board and volunteers have energy and enthusiasm in spades, who know the importance of presenting events and preserving what’s important in our city – and I want to be part of that.”

“The Provincial Exhibition is very pleased to welcome Michele to our team,” says Exhibition President Kathy Cleaver. “With her strong communications background and her Brandon roots I am sure she will be a valuable resource for us moving forward.”

“The doors are opening for new events and fresh perspectives for the Provincial Exhibition, we are pleased to have Michele on board to help us tell our story,” she went on to say.

This year’s Royal Manitoba Winter Fair was a tremendous success, despite the challenges from the pandemic. Now the path is clear for an even better Summer fair in June and the ever popular Manitoba Ag Ex in the fall.

McDougall says that if anything, the pandemic taught us about the importance of community.

“Brandon proved its resiliency,” she says. “Moving forward, we know we can host events safely, respecting folks’ sense of security while having fun. I can’t wait to help showcase all that Brandon has to offer.”

Michele plans to arrive in the city at the end of the month and will officially join the Provincial Ex in early May.
