May 26, 2023

Brandon, MB. – The Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba is excited to announce that a valuable member of their staff has been named a finalist for this year’s Tourism Westman’s Tribute to Tourism Awards.

22-year old Britteny Breemersch, a Brandon University student, who also serves as the Financial Assistant, among other duties, for the Provincial Exhibition is among five finalists for Aspiring Youth.

She joins a field of nominees that include Sydney Murray of Hamiota, Cassandra Cardy and Zac Easton of Minnedosa and Elkhorn’s Taylor Wegener.

“I’m honoured to have been nominated for this prestigious award,” says Breemersch, who is currently studying Psychology in her undergraduate for Law school at Brandon University. “Providing support to the community that I’ve grown up in and continue to grow in has always been important to me so being nominated is a genuine honour.”

Asping Youth is one of nine categories that will be recognized this year. Others include Event of the Year (Budget over and under 5K), Marketing Excellence, Partnership, Service Excellence, Volunteer of the Year, Indigenous Tourism and Resilience and Innovation. This evening is held annually to recognize and celebrate the exceptional individuals, businesses, organizations and communities within Western Manitoba that have made significant contributions to tourism development and promotion this past year.
