Brandon, MB. – Call for Shareholder and Director Nominations!

The Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba’s annual Shareholders meeting and election of Directors is scheduled for Tuesday, January 23 at 7:30 P.M. and nominations for the Board of Directors are now being accepted.

In 2024, currently, there are fourteen positions open on the Provincial Exhibition Board which consist of thirteen three-year terms and one two-year term.

The deadline for nominations is January 19th, 2024.

In general, candidates are expected to be proactive and forthcoming in disclosing potential conflicts of interest. While the Provincial Exhibition Board often benefits from its members having experience in various areas, related to the Exhibition, it is essential for the Board to avoid actual or perceived conflicts of interest.

Specific skills such as agriculture, business, marketing and communication will be valuable assets for any nominee.

In order to be nominated, an individual can apply themselves or put forward a suited candidate through the Provincial Ex website www.provincialexhibition.com or by going to the Provincial Ex office located in the Dome Building, (Display Building No. II). However, all nominees brought forward must accept their nomination before the voting process. All directors on the board, or applying to be on the board, must be shareholders of the Provincial Exhibition. Shares can be purchased online or at the Provincial Ex office and cost $10.00.

The Provincial Exhibition Board currently consists of 6 full-time staff, 4 part-time staff and 39 directors. Because the Board is responsible for hosting four annual events, it is therefore important that nominees seriously consider their potential role as a director and the time commitment that this entails.

This year’s Annual Shareholders Meeting is scheduled for 7:30pm, Tuesday, January 23rd in the Dome Building, (Display Building No. II).
